Last checked: 2026-10-16. KB and MB are treated as 1024-based (256 KB = 262,144 bytes). Platforms rarely say which they mean, so the tool aims a few percent below the stated limit. Limits are rechecked every quarter.

How to make a GIF under 10MB

Check the size box. It is set to 10240 KB. For a server avatar, change it to 8192 KB or use the Discord GIF compressor presets.
Drop your GIF. Large files can take a little while in your browser. Keep the tab in the foreground.
Download. Check the size and the dimensions shown. Banners need to be at least 680×240 pixels.

When a 10MB banner still fails
