The short version: your pictures never leave your device, and TinyGIF does not ask who you are. This page explains the details.

Your files

When you choose or drop a picture, your browser reads it and the tool processes it in your own computer's or phone's memory. The picture is not sent to us or to anyone else. The results exist only in your browser until you download them, and they are discarded when you close or reload the page. There are no accounts.

Anonymous usage statistics

To learn which tools are used and where they fail, the page sends a small anonymous message to an endpoint on this website when something happens. The possible events are tool_view, file_selected, process_start, process_success, process_error, download. A message can only contain: the tool page, the preset you picked, the real file type (for example "gif"), a rough file size range (for example "256-512KB"), a rough processing time range, whether the target size was reached, an error code if one happened, and whether your device is a desktop or a phone.

Messages never contain your file name, your file, its exact size, a user identifier or a cookie, and our code does not store your IP address. They are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine. Nothing is sent if your browser has "Do Not Track" turned on.

Hosting

This site is delivered by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect them from abuse, Cloudflare's network processes technical data such as your IP address and request headers. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising

This site does not currently show advertising and does not set advertising cookies. If that changes, this page and the cookies page will be updated first.

Children

TinyGIF is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal profile of you, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you are in a region with data protection rights, or you have any question about this page, write to hello@tinygif.app.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
