gifsicle (GPL-2.0)
GIF compression uses gifsicle by Eddie Kohler, which is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 2. It is delivered to your browser as a separate WebAssembly file (gifsicle.wasm) that the gifsicle-wasm package builds from the gifsicle source (version 1.96.4).
You can get the complete corresponding source code from the upstream project at github.com/kohler/gifsicle and the build recipe from github.com/ysamlan/gifsicle-bin. Under the GPL you may run, study, change and share it. This website runs gifsicle as a separate program inside your browser and gives it its instructions as command-line arguments.
