About TinyGIF
Last updated 2026-10-26.
TinyGIF is a small set of free tools for one annoying problem: your GIF or emote is rejected because it is a few kilobytes too big, or the wrong size. The tools shrink, resize and convert pictures so they fit what Discord, Twitch and Kick accept, and tell you plainly whether the result passes.
Your files stay on your device
The compression and resizing code is downloaded to your browser and runs there. Your picture is read from your own disk, processed in memory and offered back to you as a download. It is never uploaded to a server, because there is no server that could receive it. Read the privacy page for the full list of what is, and is not, recorded.
Where the platform limits come from
Every limit shown on this site (emoji under 256 KB, stickers at 320×320 and 512 KB, Twitch's 60-frame rule and so on) comes from one data file. Each entry links to the platform page it was taken from and shows the date it was last checked. Limits are re-checked every quarter. When two official pages disagree, or we could not confirm a number, the page says so instead of picking one quietly. The Discord file size limits guide lists the open questions.
The tools also aim a few percent below each limit. Platforms rarely say whether a kilobyte is 1000 or 1024 bytes, and a file that squeaks under one reading can fail the other.
What we do not do
- No account, no sign-up and no watermark on your files.
- No uploading, and no keeping copies of what you convert.
- No claim to speak for any platform. Not affiliated with Discord, Twitch or Kick.
Built with open-source software
The tools are made possible by open-source projects such as gifsicle, which is licensed under the GPL. See the open-source licenses page for the full list, licence texts and source links.
